Groundwork helps businesses get started on their Net Zero journey

On Tuesday 17th July Sustainable Business Consultants from environmental charity, Groundwork, hosted an event at the Porto Theatre in Elsmere Port to introduce businesses to Net Zero.

The event, which was delivered in partnership with Cheshire West & Chester Council and funded thorough the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund, was designed to help businesses understand all things Net Zero, from Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions through to low carbon technologies which they could install to help lower costs and reduce emissions.

In addition, the event introduced the funded support which Groundwork are able to provide to eligible businesses in the Cheshire West & Chester area including:

  • On-site energy audit and decarbonisation plan to understand energy use and areas for improvement
  • Grant support to install low-carbon technologies
  • IEAMA training and on-going mentoring to develop in-house sustainability expertise

The event was well received with Kirsty Wright from Green Speak adding,

“The Groundwork ‘Introduction to Net Zero’ was informative and provided relevant information applicable to businesses in various stages of their sustainability journey. It was a valuable way to spend a few hours, even with a background in sustainable business practises I learnt a lot, with the bonus of the chance to network with interesting people. Highly recommended!”

Groundwork will be hosting their next Introduction to Net Zero event on Tuesday 24th September, from 10:00 to 11:30 at Meridian House in the Winsford Industrial Estate.
