How to Use TikTok

TikTok currently ranks as the most engaging social media app, with an average session lasting 11 minutes and a prospective 1.2 billion user reach. The platform itself is used by consumers, businesses and organisations alike – regardless of size.

Having downloaded the app and created your business profile, distinguishing your company with a relevant profile picture, bio and link to an appropriate web page is key. Conducting a competitor and audience analysis will help start to shape your content plan.

Watching, liking, and commenting will begin to influence content within your ‘For You‘ page, where the algorithm starts to collate posts under particular subjects. Using these as a basis, you can start to develop content that mirrors any trends, hashtags or styles that you know will appeal to your audience.

The TikTok algorithm is based on engagement, and can regularly amplify your content to a new audience (beyond your existing following) if it’s proven to appeal to users.
