Farrall’s Group Go Green with Solar PV

Chamber member Farrall’s Group, a family run business which provides distribution and warehousing solutions, have recently installed Solar PV panels at their site in Ashton Hayes thanks to support from environmental charity Groundwork and funding support from Cheshire West and Chester Council via the UK Government.

Last year, Groundwork’s Sustainable Business Consultants calculated Farrall’s Group carbon emissions and undertook a cost/benefit analysis for different low-carbon technologies, with solar coming out on top. Together with the Farrall’s Group leadership team they developed an action plan and business case for investment.

The solar panels were installed earlier this year and have resulted in a £5,752 cost savings per year and 7.76 tonnes of carbon saved per year.

Kat Farrall, Director at Farral’s Group added, “We found the insight and advice from the Groundwork team very helpful in exploring options to support us in achieving our sustainability objectives. Their communication was prompt and informative which allowed a successful process of the company obtaining a grant.”

Groundwork are continuing to support businesses in the Cheshire West & Chester area on their journey to Net Zero, providing funded decarbonisation audits and action plans as well as Net Zero training and mentoring support.
