Defining Your Mission and Vision

Mission Statement

Defining your mission statement is a way to highlight your company’s core values and provides everybody (from customers to employees!) with understanding of your business and how you differ from competitors.

This statement outlines an organisations goals, values and objectives. It helps to define how objectives will be met, providing a better response to change as the company grows.

To create your mission statement, think about the below questions.

  1. What is your target audience?
  2. What does your company offer to this audience?
  3. Why does your company stand out?

Vision Statement

Your vision statement should detail where your company aspires to be. It is a reminder of what you and your employees are working towards, and what you hope to achieve.

Define your end game. What does your product or service do, what problem does it solve?

For both statements to have an effect, you need to educate employees on them. Make it part of your onboarding process, and highlight how important these statements are in the way your company works.
