Building a Solid Foundation: Selecting Your Brand Name

Your brand name is an integral part of your business’s brand identity – it’s often one of the first impressions potential clients will have of your business.

Essential factors to consider when creating a brand name.

  • Availability. Does a business already exist with the chosen name? What results appear when you search it?
  • Readability. Ensure your brand name is easy to spell or pronounce. The word may be made up, but if it is easy to sound out then it is easier for someone to look it up after hearing it spoken out loud.
  • Simplicity. Easy to understand, not complicated.
  • Consider future growth. Don’t box yourself into a specific product or service if you think there’s any chance of expanding into something else in the future.
