Instagram Highlights

Over the past five years, Instagram Stories have become almost as popular as the traditional ‘grid’ posts that businesses and customers use and interact with. As stories are widely considered as the more ‘short-form’ content, the media contained within is only live for 24 hours, after which it disappears into the ether. 

This was until Instagram introduced ‘Story Highlights’ in 2017. This new functionality allowed users to ‘group’ past stories into highlights, storing them permanently between your bio and profile grid. 

The ability to segment and store content that could signpost viewers to different calls-to-action, has since become an integral tool for any social media marketer.
