How To Use Typography Effectively


Typography is important when it comes to all branding and design for your business. All text should be easy to read and understand.

Utilising the same typography across all designs helps consumers to associate the typeface with your brand, regardless of the material they see it on.

Things to think about include the visual arrangement of text, the colour contrast, text hierarchy and blank space.


Serif Fonts

These fonts feature little feet at the top and bottom of each letter, referred to as serifs. This style often gives a sense of history or authority, traditionally used in older documentation.

Sans Serif Fonts

These fonts do not contain serifs and have a much more modern feel. They are simple, clean and easy to read in most formats.


For these fonts, being aesthetically pleasing is the highest priority. They are most often seen within brand names and logos, rather than body text.
